Welcome to my art gallery.
Bobwhite quail paintings and whitetail deer paintings are some of my favorite fine art paintings to do. Living in the wide expansion of rural Texas, gives me the opportunity to paint these subjects and many others. Bobwhite quail and deer make wonderful paintings and are especially loved by those avid hunter or those that simply love to view the beauty of these animals.
Prickly pear cactus and pretty, fluffy white cotton bowls are really good subjects to paint on canvas. Other flora paintings that I like are sunflowers. Seeing these bright yellow flowers that grow wild along the side of a dirt road brings back memories of my childhood. Painting these sunflowers, cactus and cotton takes me back to those good times.
Horse paintings are a popular item. I have paintings of the W.T. Waggoner Ranch horses and cowboys. Working for the Waggoner Ranch for several years, my paintings turned to western art. I sold some of my western art, but still have a few pieces from there. I have two cowboy paintings depicting the grand entry and the wild cow milking event at the North Texas Rehab Ranch Round-up. This event is a wonderful fund raiser for the North Texas Rehab in Wichita Falls, Texas. Cowboys from the surrounding area participate, showing their cowboy skills. There are art contest that I had the opportunity to enter and was proud to receive a few trophies for my cowboy paintings.
Other animals that I have in my gallery are portraits of dogs. The Wilbarger County Humane Society had me paint a blue heeler for them last year for their note cards. They named the dog Reba. I still have the original in my gallery of fine art. I have also painted other dog portraits for my customers. A recent creation was a long haired dachshund painting.
Other Texas paintings that I have painted and added to my gallery are the San Antonio River Walk and the Alamo in the Rain. San Antonio is a pretty place and putting it on canvas is a fun thing to do, especially the bright colors of the umbrellas on the river walk.
My online shop began several years ago with selling laundry room art. I have several series of laundry room prints, with cute little sayings, that will bring smiles to any hum drum day of washing clothes. My "Woes of Laundry" series has one painting entitled "A Women's Work is Never Done" with an ironing board and a basket of laundry. I painted a Kerr fruit jar with clothes pins in another of the paintings, it is titled "Line Dry". These are fun subjects to paint.
With a request about 12 years ago from a "Mommy to Be", I began creating baby memory books that are unique with hand painted covers and are also personalized with your baby's name. This began my brand name Glory Bee Baby. My first baby memory book was a Little Cowboy design. This was the beginning of many theme creations. I have cowboy, cowgirl, little farmer, baseball player, sports designs, lady bug, safari, zoo animals, Noah's Ark and other designs. Check back frequently to see my new themes. My Giraffe and my Love You to the Moon and Back have been some of my best seller in 2017. I'm anxious to see what it will be in 2018!
My latest endeavor has been to illustrate four children's books. Two are published and the other two are still in the works. My daughter Julie Bark wrote "Hitchin Post" which is published and can be purchased at www.julieabarker.com
. She has two sequels to this book of a cute little jack rabbit and his adventures on the 6Bs Land and Cattle Company ranch. The other book is The Little Dark Christmas Light by Charles Burk. You can purchase this happy tale on www.lulu.com
. Just search the title of the book or the author.
I incorporate my art into note cards, invitations, baby announcements and Christmas cards. These can be personalized with your name.
